Edith Joy Smith
October 18, 1957 - January 23, 2017
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joy at the age of 59 years.
Joy was born in Edmonton on October 18, 1957. She lived and went to school in Edmonton in her younger years until moving to the Hastings Lake area when she was still of elementary school age. She completed high school at Ardrossan High School in 1974 and soon started her working years. Joy was working at Dillingham Construction in Edmonton where she met and fell in love with Norm Smith. Joy and Norm were married for 26 years before Norms passing in February of 2014. Joy liked to have parties and always had time to get together with friends and family. She sold the acreage in 2014 and being a small town girl, Joy lived her remaining years in Tofield until she passed away in January of 2017. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Joy was predeceased by her sister Gail Satre in 1992, her husband Norm Smith in 2014, a sister-in-law Gean Satre in 2015, her mother Edith Satre in 2015, her father Clarence Satre in 2016, and her sister-in-law Diane Satre in 2016.
Her cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Joy.
