Cashaback, Evelyn Betty
(January 22, 1921 - February 13, 2017)

With great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Evelyn Betty Cashaback at the age of 96. She will be greatly missed by her children: Michael (Ghislaine), Ozann, Gail (Rene) and Debra (Gordon); her grandchildren: Monique, Jody, Michelle, Jan, Sheryle, Shawn, Robert and Todd; her great-grandchildren: Joshua, Shelby, Katerine, Madison, Hayden, Justin, Tate, Gavin, Ryder and Nicholas; as well as her great-great-granddaughter Kamrynn.

Evelyn came to Canada as an English war bride and settled in Alberta which she made her home until her passing. She spent her life working very hard to care for her family. She always spoke of her life with a smile even though it wasn’t easy at times. We were all captivated when she shared her experiences in the land army and with the bombings in England during WW2. Evelyn had a passion and talent for gardening, knitting and curling and she shone at all three. Oh how Evelyn loved music and she was really something on that dance floor. She found time to volunteer, teaching girl guides and became honoured royal lady of the Royal Purple. She loved her family so much and was overjoyed when we got together and when a new baby was added to the mix; another little bum for her to pat which she would do for hours. She cherished spending time with family and friends and to quote a dear family friend "The red carpet to heaven was laid out for this great lady on Feb 13, 2017."

There will be a celebration of her life on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton. (Access via 153 Avenue)

Donations may be made to the Salvation Army in her memory.
