<div itemprop="description">Moore, Margaret <br> <br>It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Margaret (Peggy) Winnifred Moore of Gibbons, Alberta on November 22, 2016 at the age of 89 years. <br> <br>Peggy is survived by her sons: Gordon (Cathy), Glen and Robert (Kathy) Moore, daughter-in-law Carole Moore; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Peggy was predeceased by her husband Thomas J. Moore, her son Wayne Moore and her daughter Catherine Moore. <br> <br>Peggy was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan and lived in that area until the age of 12 when she moved to British Columbia where she later met her future husband Tom. After marriage Tom joined the RCAF and they subsequently moved to various bases throughout Canada. Tom’s last posting was to Lancaster Park north of Edmonton. After retirement Peggy and Tom moved to an acreage near Gibbons. They eventually moved into the town of Gibbons where they resided until their deaths. <br> <br>Peggy was primarily a stay-at-home mother and she also opened her home to foster children. When her children grew-up, Peggy joined the workforce in a variety of jobs. She was involved with the settlement of Vietnamese refugees after the war in Vietnam. Peggy was an avid gardener and an active member of her church and community. Peggy also enjoyed bowling and was awarded numerous trophies and accolades. She continued to volunteer her time in a variety of activities in and around the town of Gibbons. In addition to her volunteer work Peggy developed a number of close friendships which she maintained until her death. <br>Thank-you to the staff at the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital for providing such excellent care during Peggy's last few months of life. <br> <br>Peggy's final resting place will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 16102 Fort Road, Edmonton . (Access via 153 avenue) <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Peggy’s name to Gibbons and Coronado United Churches. <br></div>
