<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Mae Henderson. She was a super hero to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Phyllis was born on May 12, 1944 in Canora, Saskatchewan. Phyllis is pre-deceased by her dad Paul Kohut and mom Grace Kohut nee Hrynchyshyn and by her first husband Mervin Hyshka.<br><br>She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Norman Henderson, her children: Wesley (Jackie), Yardley (Laura), Jill (Michael), Brian, Kristopher, Shelly (Ryan) and Susan; her grandchildren: Danielle, Kayla, Juliana, Nathan, Gabrielle, Vanessa, Kellen, Yasmin, Janelle, Raymond, Haley, Sarah, Phillip, Harrison, Abigail, Jaime; her great grandchildren: Dimitri, Emily, Abigail and Kayden; as well as many dear friends and family. <br><br>Phyllis loved family more than anything, a visit to her home was always a celebration especially on holidays and special occasions. Dinner was served, 20 - 30 people; it didn't matter she soldiered on tirelessly. Holidays were very important, she would prepare and prepare months in advance and once the celebration came she was in the kitchen for days cooking and baking and wouldn't stop until the cleanup was done afterwards; it was always a special event.<br><br>She valued her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and all of her extended family. If you knew Phyllis, she treated everyone like they were part of the family and everyone was always welcome for tea. <br><br>We will miss you and you will always be in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. Love your family!<br><br>A celebration of Phyllis' life will be held on June 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Funeral Chapel, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton. (Access via 153 Avenue) At mom's request, please wear bright colours to celebrate her life. Prior to the service there will be a viewing held at 9:00 a.m. at Evergreen. There will be a cremation with interment to follow.<br><br>Donations may be made in memory of Phyllis to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.<br></div>
