Gobeil, Dennis Joseph
(February 17, 1942 - February 27, 2017)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis at the Edmonton General Hospital with family by his side at the age of 75 years. He will be missed by his wife Karen, his daughter Rhonda (Alan) and his grandson Michael; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his only brother Clement.

In 1947 Dennis’s family moved from Saskatchewan to the Rolling Hills area. Dennis spent his childhood helping on the family farm and later at the family garage in town. He spent most of his adult life working in the oil and gas industry however his heart was always still on the farm and he was a cowboy until the end. Though he loved spending time with his family, he loved going out and seeing the world, especially from on board a cruise ship. During his later years he took the love of his life all over the world from the Caribbean to Europe to Russia and lastly to the Arctic Circle. Though Alzheimer’s robbed him of his golden years, he stayed happy with a smile for everyone, especially his loving wife, until he left us to go help his dad once again.

Cremation has taken place. His urn will be laid to rest in the spring at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 16102 Fort Road, Edmonton. (Access via 153 Avenue)

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Alberta in memory of Dennis.
