<div itemprop="description">The family wishes to announce the passing of Edward Lopeter at the age of 85. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Claire; daughters: Corinne (Keith), Brenda (Mark), Barb and Wanda; grandchildren: Leanne, Melanie, Levon and Rose; great-grandchildren: Brandon and Gage; his sister Nellie (Leland) and brother Richard; as well as relatives and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Lloyd Lopeter, daughter, Dr. Wanita Lopeter and his grandson, Jon Bent. <br> <br>Ed was born in Stewart Valley, Saskatchewan. His family then moved in the early 1940’s from the farm to their home in Ashley Park in Swift Current, SK. There Ed completed his education and became a Journeyman Electrician. He then headed north as part of the crews of East 3 (Inuvik) bringing power to the NWT. Ed then moved on to Edmonton where the oil boom was starting. There he met and married his wife Claire while becoming a master electrician and starting Edlo Electric, his own electrical contracting business. Throughout his life Ed was the ‘go to’ guy for everyone be it family, friends or neighbors and was always there to save the day! Ed was also very active in athletics from winning Athletic awards in High School to Champion bowler. Over the years he engaged in many activities such as skiing, scuba diving, hang gliding, sky diving, hot air ballooning, archery and target shooting just to name a few and most often with one or more of his daughters at his side. <br> <br>Ed has been laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 16201 Fort Road Edmonton. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dalhousie University - Dr. Wanita Lopeter Memorial Bursury in memory of Edward. <br></div>
