Three sisters Florence (Jim) Moir, Violet Seigler and Doreen Mandziuk sisters-in law Mary and Joyce Underschultz, as well as nieces, nephews and many good friends.
Leonard was predeceased by his parents, Val and Helen, His brothers Irvin, Norman, and Herbert, brothers-in-law Ollie Mandziuk and Richard Seigler, sister-in-law Lael and stepson Les.
Leonard was born on March 28,1929 in Golden Spike Alberta, the fourth child in a family of seven. The family moved to the Rabbit Hill area in 1939. In addition to farming, Leonard enjoyed a long career with the department of highways building and overseeing the construction of hundreds of miles of Alberta roadways. Although Leonard had been retired for thirty years he was often found checking out roads under construction and knew every inch of the Anthony Henday project. Leonard was a huge fan of his extended family, in particular his nieces and nephews. We will miss his big smile and laugh, his unwavering love, his quiet and gentle ways and his generous caring heart. Although we will miss Leonard terribly, we give thanks to God for blessing us, his family and friends with so many good years with this wonderful man.
A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, April 16th at 2 p.m at Evergreen Funeral Chapel,(16204 Fort Road). If so desired donations may be made to the Cancer Foundation or to a charity of choice.
