<div itemprop="description">Pituka, Ross <br>January 28, 1931 – Drumheller, Alberta <br>February 22, 2017 – Edmonton, Alberta<br>Ross Pituka respected grandfather and former employee of Alberta Environment passed away on February 22, 2017 at the age of 86. <br>Ross was a first generation Canadian born in Drumheller, who would later go on to achieve the Canadian Dream. He had a multitude of jobs before he found his career, as a boy he worked with the railway company during the War, he worked for many different oil and gas organizations and worked as a surveyor. He was a first in a many ways, he was one of the first people who be employed by Alberta Environment and Land Reclamation, a career he was immensely proud of. <br>He married his wife Jacqueline Pituka nee Simpson, together they raised three amazing children Rebecca, Daniel, and Larry, who would go onto having their own spectacular children. While the family did move around the province, they eventually settled in north Edmonton. However, due to marriage Ross had family throughout Alberta and his family often joked you could not go to a small town in Alberta without finding a relative of his. <br>In his later years, he enjoyed puttering around his house and while he could, gardening. He also took great pride in his descendants’ achievements, as a somewhat aloof yet doting patriarch figure he genuinely satisfied with the legacy he would leave behind. <br>Ross is survived by his daughter Rebecca, his son Larry, his grandchildren Trevor (Trish), Brett(Sarah), Kayla (Joseph) and Kyle, and his great-grandchildren Stella and Isabel. <br>Ross was predeceased by his son Daniel, his wife Jacqueline “Nora” and his parents François “Frank” and Kathryn. <br>A memorial Service will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home (16204 Fort Road, Edmonton), on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 10 am with an interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. <br>With respect to others, this is a low perfume/cologne service. <br></div>
