We are deeply saddened to announce INGE, at 81 years of age, passed away peacefully
at the Sturgeon hospital, in St. Albert, Alberta; after a courageous battle with cancer.

Inge was born October 23, 1935, in Unterwellenborn, Germany. In 1958, she began her brave journey to Canada to start a new life. She resided in Calgary until 1971 then made her forever home in St. Albert, Alberta. Inge honoured her “German” roots and had a feisty zest for life. She loved baking in her blue apron while listening to “Heinjte and Neil Diamond” in her small townhouse in Ridgewood Terrace, St Albert. She had vivacious strength and “weathered many storms” with a resilient spirit. She cared for people genuinely and valued her family/friends. She had a tenacious work ethic that took her to her retirement at the age of 73. Inge met the love of her life in 2009, Pius, who took her to places she only dreamed of travelling to; across Canada to the Maritimes where she first landed as an immigrant, Alaska, to the US, through Europe (Italy, Holland, France, Switzerland, Germany), camping throughout Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan.

Inge was predeceased by her loving parents Marie and Arno Stossel; and by her dear twin sister Marianne and survived by her beloved brother Guenther of Germany.

Inge was a cherished mother of her three children/spouses Scott (Claire), Diana (Martin), Martin. She was a proud Oma to her nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Inge was a companion and soul-mate to Pius Sieben. She was blessed with his extended family Judy (Joe), Joanne (Thane), Scott (Kerri) and their children. She was an adored Auntie/Great-Auntie to many nieces, nephews in Germany and was a valued friend to many.

Thank you to the staff at the Sturgeon Community Hospital and to Unit 18.

As per Inge’s wishes, a private graveside service with immediate family will be held in May.

The family will be announcing a Celebration of Inge’s Life in the early Spring this year, in St Albert.

In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada or/ to Lymphoma Canada or/ to the Sturgeon Community Hospital.

“See you on the other side of the stars”

“Yahtzee” “Good-show!”

Forever in our hearts
